Teresa earned a Master of Education in School Counseling in 2001 at Xavier University and returned to Xavier for her clinical counseling endorsement. Teresa has been an educator for the past 26 years, working as a teacher, intervention specialist, school counselor and intervention coordinator.
Teresa implements her counseling in a Person-Centered approach, relying on an eclectic group of techniques including Cognitive Behavioral, Mindfulness, and Reality Therapy methods. She believes in focusing on a client’s strengths in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. Teresa believes that individuals are inherently good and can choose their paths regardless of history and obstacles. She works with children, adolescents, adults and couples and specializes in anxiety, depression and communication issues. With her educational background, Teresa is adept at working with learning difficulties, school issues and college advising.
Teresa is a member of the Ohio Counseling Association, American School Counseling Association, and the Employee Assistance Program Association. She is passionate about character education and has lead programs in multiple high schools. She has served on numerous educational committees, taught Sunday school and coached soccer teams. She is the mother of three children and enjoys opportunities to spend time with them. She is an voracious reader and loves to learn. She gardens and relishes cooking with fresh ingredients. She and her husband with their family enjoy visiting national parks and have visited nine to date.
